The Jefferson County Clerk and Recorder is a division of the government of Jefferson County, Colo. The division is responsible for administering elections for the residents of the county; issuing marriage licenses; recording, imaging, indexing, retrieving and copying public documents; maintaining real estate records; performing searches of records; processing applications and renewals of liquor licenses and a variety of permits; keeping minutes at hearings and special meetings; performing secretarial duties to boards and councils; preparing court-ordered transcripts of meetings; maintaining custody of contracts for the county; posting meetings and agendas of special districts and other required notices; and providing vehicle registration forms. The Jefferson County Clerk and Recorder is headquartered in Golden, Colo.
