The Jackson County Sheriffs Department provides a range of law enforcement services for the general public. It covers an area of more than 1,000 square miles throughout Jackson County, Ala. The department employs over 30 sworn-in law enforcement officers and nearly 75 full-time staff members. It operates a jail, Jackson County Jail, which houses approximately 200 inmates.
