We are a locally owned, full service building center and hardware store proudly serving pro-builders, D-I-Y enthuiasts, farmers, and tradsemen including painters, plumbers, electricians, flooring installers, and drywallers. Our service and delivery area includes Hartford, Humboldt, Colton, Crooks, Lyons, Chester, Montrose, Canistota, Lake Brandt, Lake Vermillion, Wall Lake, Sioux Falls, Lake Madison, Madison, and Chancellor SD. Hartford Building Center is a family owned and operated business. Joe and Lisa Hellvig have resided and been active in Hartford and the surrounding area for the entire 20 years of our married lives and we are proud to share that we have ancestoral roots that can be traced back to some of the earliest settlers of Minnehaha County and to this day, we still have relatives residing and serving in virtually every community in the county. We believe Hartford Building Center is simply an extension of the perseverance, commitment, and service to the communities in our region that has been modeled for us through the deep family values that have been passed on in our family for several generations.
