The Hamilton County Sheriffs Office is a law enforcement agency that maintains police jurisdiction in municipalities, townships and villages. Its corrections division is responsible for the operation of adult detention facilities and supervision of inmate recreation programs. The sheriff s office features a court services division that maintains security for common plea courtrooms, serves writs, subpoenas, summons and other court orders and processes extraditions. Its crime division investigates drug trafficking, prostitution, gambling and pornography cases, as well as collects and disseminates information regarding criminal organizations. The Hamilton County Sheriffs Office also operates a patrol division that includes dive, K-9 and aviation units.
