United Methodist Church of Green Trails strives to walk a middle ground of Chesterfield churches as the Reverend Nate Berneking says. He said he felt in the area there is a choice between attending a large, exciting church or a smaller church that provides the congregation with a "church family" but is less energizing. "We hope to be both," Berneking said. "We're building a great spiritual network, where you feel at home and there are exciting opportunities." The church is involved in several local ministries, including Shalom House and Kingdom House. Recently, a church group travelled to Mozambique to help build a seminary to train leaders in the civil war-torn country. About 12 small groups meet during the week and the youth group is very active. Youth meet every Sunday, take two annual mission trips and do other charity work throughout the year.
