Located in Macon, Ga., the Bibb County Engineering Department-Operations Division conducts several phases of public works, including road construction and maintenance, construction of drainage and other appurtenances within the county road system. It also performs functions related to the maintenance of major drainage systems, clearing of litter, and cutting of grass and brush. The department is charged with the overall responsibility of recognizing, planning and implementing various phases of transportation system needs for the county. Its responsibilities include coordination of county, state and federal projects, complaint management, solid waste contract administration, development plan review, and planning and development coordination. In addition, the Bibb County Engineering Department provides services for erosion and sediment control, plat review, storm water management, pavement maintenance, line striping, and road design and construction inspection.
