Established in 1984, the Career Center is an educational institution that offers a variety of learning and recreational options for the social, intellectual, emotional and physical development of students. The center s academic curriculum includes instruction in culinary arts, construction, photography, electronics, automotive technology, collision repair and refinishing and broadcasting. It additionally organizes guest lectures and field trips. The Career Center is located in Omaha, Neb., and is governed by Omaha Public Schools, which enrolls more than 46,000 students in several elementary, middle and high schools. Omaha Public Schools has a work force of more than 7,000 employees, including teachers and support staff members. Its schools also offer instruction in mathematics, science, social studies and physical education.
