Our Shop History The original owner and our father, Larry Nobel, learned the trade at his father's bike shop in Brooklyn in the late '30s. Times were tough, and as a teen, he would open the store after school and work until dark while his father worked a second job. Larry always felt unfulfilled in his work as an adult until the day in 1954 when, with a loan from his father-in-law, he opened the doors of Brookdale Cycle and Hobby Shop. Our Shop Legacy For more than 58 years, our shop has continued to thrive and grow as a result of the friendly disposition and solid work ethic passed down from our father.
