The Alpena Police Department is a law enforcement agency that protects the lives and property of citizens and visitors, preserves peace, prevents crime and disorder and guards personal liberties. It employs a staff of more than 20 sworn officers and civilian volunteers. The department maintains detective, patrol, community services and operations divisions.
