After more than 20 years in practice as a board-certified internist, Dr. Mercado has amassed an impressive body of skills and accomplishments. After earning his undergraduate degree in biology in 1989, he went on to study medicine at the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey in Newark. His next step was a residency in internal medicine at the New York University Medical Center. Among Dr. Mercado’s achievements are the Eagle Scout award, Phi Beta Kappa membership, and the New York University Founders’ Day Award. He has held leadership roles at Hackettstown Regional Medical Center for six years and is currently a member of the American Medical Association and the American College of Physicians.
